Last year I ran the Brooklyn half marathon with my husband and felt so accomplished that I took a break from running regularly for about a year. I believe that life has ebbs and flows and you can't do everything all the time. I spent more time sitting, studying, and writing and less time moving around on my feet.
I went for a run the other day in this beautiful weather we are having. On my cool down, I watched the other runners intently and became very aware of their patterns.
Two years ago I trained for the Brooklyn Half Marathon. I was so excited with each passing mile and felt accomplished every week. That was until 7 miles where I injured myself. I was in such intense pain that it hurt to walk, sit, and work let alone run.
